Our story began nearly two decades ago, long before the name Raptor was forged.

It started in 2009 with a friendship and a vision. Dave Sanders, a software and efficiency expert, saw the immense potential of the emerging drone industry and pitched the idea to his longtime friend, Dale King, a retired Illinois State Police officer with a background in military and protection services. Together, they founded Homeland Surveillance & Electronics (HSE) with a mission to bring cutting-edge drone technology to first responders.

What began as a bold idea quickly grew into a trusted family enterprise. As demand surged, Dave’s brother, Terry, built the company’s first website, and in 2013, Dave’s children, Bryan and Joye, brought their expertise in operations and sales to the team. This foundation of family and shared purpose became the core of the company's culture.

HSE’s reputation for expertise and unwavering support led them into the heart of American agriculture, where they became a leading authority on spray drone technology. Under the leadership of Bryan Sanders, who was named President in 2017, the company honed its focus on empowering farmers and operators across the country.

In 2025, to better serve this community, HSE joined forces with Canada’s award-winning Raptor Dynamic. This industry-first alliance united drone manufacturers, distributors, and dealers under one roof, creating a single, ruthlessly efficient ecosystem with over 30 partner locations nationwide.

Today, as Raptor, we carry that same family-driven commitment to expertise and support, now amplified by a national network. We provide unbiased, manufacturer-agnostic advice to find the right tool for the job, backed by expert-led training and local service centers that eliminate costly downtime.
