Our Story

Raptor was founded in 2025, but their story began close to two decades earlier.

Back in 2009 longtime friends Dale King and Dave Sanders saw the potential of the emerging drone industry. Dave, a software and efficiency-tech expert, came across a report predicting a $25 billion market by 2020. He pitched the idea to Dale, a retired Illinois State Police officer with military and protection experience, and together they set out to bring cutting-edge drone technology to first responders and the military.

After extensive research, licensing, and training with top manufacturers, Homeland Surveillance & Electronics, globally recognized as HSE, was born. What started as a bold vision quickly gained traction and growth came quickly.

Dave’s brother, Terry, a web developer with a knack for sales, built HSE’s first website, which quickly increased inbound leads. To keep up with demand, in 2013, Dave’s children, Bryan and Joye Sanders, joined the team, bringing their expertise in operations and sales from the financial sector.

As the business expanded, so did its impact. HSE’s reputation for delivering top-tier drone solutions led to partnerships with law enforcement agencies, government organizations, and agricultural professionals seeking advanced UAV technology. The team remained committed to innovation, continuously evolving to meet the needs of clients across industries.

In 2017, Bryan Sanders was named President. Under his leadership, HSE broadened its reach, developing new product lines and enhancing its service offerings to ensure customers had access to the latest drone advancements.

In 2025. HSE merged with Canada’s award-winning Raptor Dynamic to become Raptor; an industry first that brings drone manufacturers, distributors, and dealers together under one roof to offer a powerful mix of products and services across 30+ Raptor spots nationwide.

From the Pacific to the Atlantic, Raptor empowers businesses and professionals to operate smarter, safer, and more efficiently.

This is the first review I have ever written in any capacity, but it would be a grave injustice to Joye and Raptor to not write my first. I purchased a T-30 that was urgently needed perform a project for the PA department of forestry. The freight forwarder never showed up and I was forced to fly to Orlando to pick up the drone at their headquarters. Joye was willing to meet me after midnight to ensure I could drive the drone to Central Pennsylvania overnight for the project. To say her kindness was appreciated would be a massive understatement. Every company strives to provide good customer service, but Raptor redefines the definition of that concept. I personally, and everyone on the AERAS team cannot thank you enough, and there will never be a scenario where we use any supplier other than Raptor. Love you Joye and everyone else at Raptor.
