Stolen. Recovered. Still Locked Down.
Why we stand behind the brands we carry

Earlier this month, a trailer carrying Ceres Black Betty drones was stolen while in transit to a dealer. It’s since been recovered, thanks to the work of federal law enforcement.
We knew Black Betty was in high demand – but dang, not like that! Get in line!
In all seriousness, this highlights something important: even though the drones were stolen, nothing ever left Ceres’ controlled access – even when the drones couldn’t be located. Black Betty doesn’t just power on and go. It requires proper activation, can be locked remotely, and it’s fully traceable. Without the right access, Black Betty won’t run.
That’s not luck, that’s how they’re built.
Situations like this are a good reminder of what matters when you’re choosing what to run in your operation.
Most conversations focus on specs, capacity, and efficiency – and they should. That’s the day-to-day.
It’s not just about performance in the field. It’s about knowing the system is built with control, accountability, and support behind it. Knowing where it comes from, who stands behind it, and what happens if something doesn’t go as planned. And it didn’t take crossing the international dateline or waiting for translations. It was just done.
When you're buying from an American company, there’s a level of visibility and accountability you don’t get otherwise. You’re not guessing who to call or how to respond. There’s a clear path to action.
In this case, it meant everything stayed controlled and was recovered quickly without turning into something bigger.
That’s not an edge case. It’s part of the system Ceres designed.
And it’s a big part of why we stand behind the manufacturers we carry.
